Transforming Lives by Making Disciples of Jesus Christ.

What We Believe

We believe there is one true living God who is revealed to us as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  We believe that God is infinite in power, wisdom, and love over all His creation.  We believe that the Son is Jesus the Christ who lived the perfect life, suffered death for us on the cross and was raised from the dead.  We believe that God the Holy Spirit is active, convincing us of sin and leading us to respond to God’s offer of forgiveness and eternal life.

We believe in both original righteousness and original sin.  Humans are made in the likeness of God but we all have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory and cannot renew or reconcile ourselves to God on our own strength.  We receive salvation as a free gift from God through faith alone in our Lord Jesus Christ.  We depend on spiritual renewal through the power of the Holy Spirit to grow in love of both God and Neighbor.  We hold that God’s transforming power produces acts of mercy and justice, involving us in mission and service to the world.

We understand the Christian Church to be the community of all believers under the Lordship of Christ.  Every believer is called to faithfully participate in a local church community.  In Christ’s name we administer the Sacraments of Baptism, and the Lord’s Supper.  Baptism, available to both children and adults, marks our initiation in to the community of faith.  All are invited to participate in the Lord’s Supper as a personal response to Christ’s invitation.

We affirm the Bible contains all that is necessary for our salvation.  The scriptures are to be received through the Holy Spirit as the true guide for faith and practice.  We believe in the resurrection of the dead.  We believe that everyone will stand before the judgment of Christ and affirm that good will triumph over evil.
