Travelers [Rm. 108]

This intergenerational group focuses on lively discussion aimed at spiritual growth through the application of Christian principles as we travel through our daily lives. The Travelers’ ministry is also expressed through service and fellowship.  Leader:  Lisa McEowen, 883-2427 

Pioneers  [Rm. 110]

This group of senior men and women who are young in heart meet for Sunday school.  They also meet for a social each month with dinner and program. If you are one of God’s older children and are looking for friends, excellent teaching and sharing, they would welcome you. Leader:  Wes Arington, 881-1987 

Seekers [Rm. 113]

This group is for all ages, both married and single. Various topics are studied and discussed. The purpose of this class is to gather together for Christian fellowship as we seek to grow spiritually.  Leader:  Dan Penovich, 831-4913 

Homebuilders  [Rm. 115]

This group is for adults 50 plus.  Topics vary depending on the teacher.  Occasional guest teacher, plus many fellowship opportunities.  Leader:  Ed Hewlett, 883-2906 

Bible Inquiry  [Rm. 201]

This intergenerational group studies books of the Bible and discusses current events which affect our Christian walk.  Leader:  John Melton,   831-0233

Navigators  [Rm. 202]

Newcomers are welcome!  We have 4-5 different teachers and active discussion as well.  Members are in their 50's or so.  We have several social events each year -- picnics, bike rides, Christmas party, etc.   Leader:  Gail Randolph, 883-5687

Messengers  [Rm. 203/205]

We welcome guests and new members of all ages.  Our group ranges in age from 40 to 80.  We study the Bible with questions for the following Sunday's Bible reading assignment passed out each week.   We meet and discuss the questions and reading.  Leader:  Nancy Curry, 887-8937 

Family Affair [Rm. 204]

The Family Affair group is focused on an in-depth study of biblical principles and real life application.  Lessons vary from studying books of the Bible to studying issues that Christians struggle with on a daily basis.  We tackle these issues through discussion and research into God's Word.  Leader:  Drew Fritts, 827-3971 

Word Alive [Rm. 207]

Adult singles and couples are invited to join us. This group pursues two important goals: (1) to better understand scriptural principles and (2) to apply scriptural lessons to our individual lives. We will strive to deepen our relationship with the Lord and live lives that are more pleasing to Him.  Leader:  Matt Henry, 732-6089 

Explorers [Rm. 208]

A group for singles and couples in their late 20’s to early 40’s. This group will be studying many topics including books of the Bible.  Class parties and small dinner groups are some of the group’s activities.  Leader:  Mark Fels, 866-6172 

11:00AM - 12:00PM

2030 [Rm. 106]

This newly formed group studies and discusses scripture, a challenging study, and/or that morning's sermon. In addition to the eagerness in which we pursue knowing God through His Word, the group is very welcoming and open to discussing hard questions about our lives as Christians. MONDAY 

Movers & Shakers [Memorial Hall]

Movers and Shakers is an exciting opportunity for men to explore and express their faith. Its mission is: “Equipping Men to Be Spiritual Leaders.”  You may choose to attend either a breakfast or lunch meeting on Mondays.  Our weekly gatherings will last for no more than one hour.  We will focus on what the Bible tells us about how to apply our faith to our busy lives in the 21st century.  You will also have many opportunities to be a part of meaningful mission work.  Meets on Mondays, 6:45 and 11:30 a.m.  Leader:  Ed Hewlett, 883-2906, Kerry Randolph, 883-5687, Dan Serven, 581-2641 

Morning Bible Study [Rm. 201]

Study a variety of Bible studies.  More often we've done the studies offered by Beth Moore Ministries, generally  6-10 week studies. Meets on Mondays, 9-11 a.m.  Leader:  Jill Seagrave, 887-8217 

TUESDAY 

Tuesday Bible Study [Rm. 201]

Are you ready to deepen your relationship with God?  Strengthen your spiritual walk?  Develop friendships with other women?  Experience growth through a small group?  Discuss connections between Scripture and everyday life? Tuesday Bible Study study topics such as knowing God, growing closer to Christ. finding balance – between  service and worship, duty and devotion, doing and being. Meets on Tuesdays, 1-2 p.m.  Leader:  Liz Craig, 881-6800 

WEDNESDAY 

God's Lunch Bunch [Memorial Hall]

God's Lunch Bunch is a Bible study for women.  We take about a chapter a week in the Bible and delve deeply into the word.  There are four ladies in the group who rotate the teaching assignment and discussion.  However, we are also a fellowship group that truly enjoys each other; we eat lunch together before and even during our study if necessary.  It's lots of fun, and all women are welcome.  Meets on Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  Leaders:  Marie Hewlett 883-2906, Jan Bloch 886-0403, Marilyn Moore 887-8937, Pat Purtell 882-8787 

College Bible Study [Rm. 210]

College and young adults gather to study the Bible and build friendships, Wednesdays, 7-8 p.m. Leader:  Matt Kerner, 881-6800 

Writers Group [Rm. 201]

Writers Group is open to any interested person in our community.  It is a place for people interested in writing to share their work, find support for continuing and improving their writing, offering and receiving constructive criticism, and learning more about writing.  It is a group for writers of poetry, essay, technical, fiction, non-fiction, screenplay, etc.  The writing content is understood to be the expression of the individual writer and not that of Schweitzer UMC.  It is a supportive group of writers who treat each person and their writing with respect.  Meets every 1st & 3rd Wednesday, 6:30-8:00 p.m.  Leader:  Linda Harper, 890-1580

THURSDAY

L.E.T.S. (Learn Eat Travel Serve) [Memorial Hall]

This group is open to anyone who would like to gather for lunch, fellowship, and a program the first Thursday of the month.  We encourage retired people and others to come on the first Thursday of the month to join us for lunch and a program.   For reservations or more information, call Deanna Gorden at 881-1447, ext. 123.
