God has done it again! God has brought us spring and we were definitely ready for it! The winter was longer, colder and harsher than it has been in years. Following the winter of '06-07, the springtime green, the appearance of flowers and the trees blossoming in their full array bear witness that following every winter of our lives, there is a spring that waits to be!
Not only does spring remind us of God's beauty but of the new life we experience in Jesus Christ. As each flower bulb opens, each butterfly leaves its cocoon, we see the message of Jesus' death and resurrection unfold before our very eyes.
May we be fully alive and attentive as Schweitzer tells the story!
This Sunday, the children will lead us in the waving of palm branches as we recall Jesus' final entry into Jerusalem.
The altar will be draped in red as we recall His blood poured out for us on the Cross.
Good Friday worship (April 6) will bring us even closer to his crucifixion as we reflect and enter into the passion of Christ.
Easter Saturday morning will provide opportunities for children and their families to experience the story of Christ's death and resurrection.
Saturday night worship and our three worship experiences on Easter Sunday will proclaim the great news: He is risen! He is risen indeed!
Who do you know who especially needs to experience the reality that Christ is alive this Easter? I can't think of a single person who doesn't need the hope the Easter message brings into our lives! Invite them to come and see! And don't forget to include yourself in the celebration!
