Blessed by Serving

Sometimes I become amazed at what God is doing at Schweitzer. It is not that I am surprised it is more a sense of awe, as God uses this church to impact the lives of so many. In the past week, I observed and participated in a plethora of experiences that taught me that we are a healthy church, dedicated to following God’s leadership as we transform lives by making disciples of Jesus Christ.
Here is some of what I saw:

  • Small groups gathering  together to learn about other faiths and share their own.
  • The door to the church opening to bring in those needing safety during the tornados.
  • Volunteers Tuesday morning on the way to assist people in the community devastated by the storms.
  • Children’s Programs,  choirs, youth ministries and starting up for the year with new enthusiasm.
  • Vision 2010 team spending the day in strategic planning and discerning of God’s call for Schweitzer
  • Over 1200 people gathered in our four worship services.
  • New members joining.
  • A new class of Confirmands beginning the journey with wonderful volunteer leadership.
  • A Task force meeting to plan and provide information on a new recovery ministry. Parents gathered to explore a mission trip for youth this summer.
  • Stephen Ministers learning and supporting one another as they continue to serve others.

And there is so much more. Please remember to keep Schweitzer in your daily prayers. We have been given an opportunity to help God’s kingdom to come and His will to be done. Come and receive the blessing that comes from serving Jesus Christ!
With gratitude,
Lori
