New Director of Music Ministries
It is with great pleasure that the Staff-Parish Relations Committee announces the selection of Kris Kaatz as our new Director of Music Ministries. Kris comes to us with vast experiences in music as a performer, musician and director and with the administrative abilities that her professional life has afforded her. Kris is a familiar face to many of you as she can be seen singing in the choir and Schweitzer Singers, leading the children’s choirs, leading Sunday School Music, directing VBS Music, playing handbells or the viola. Already entrenched in the life of Schweitzer, Kris and her four children have committed themselves to living out their faith here and will bring that dedication to this ministry. Kris begins July 23rd. Kevin Hawkins will be working closely with Kris as we are blessed to have him continue as the Director of the Adult Choirs. What a team they will make! If you have ever had the nudge from God to lift up your voice and sing in a choir, this is your year. If you have ever felt the desire to ring a bell or play an instrument in worship, let them know. We are excited to see what God will do with such a willing and talented team of leaders that includes Gail Randolph as director of the Senior Saints, Beth Young as the handbell director and of course our gifted organist Cheryll Moll and pianist Roseanne Bass. We offer our prayers and blessings to Susan and Cameron LaBarr as they begin their careers in Texas. May God use their immense talents for His Glory!
