Thank You

I love spring! I can’t help it. After the winter we had it is a celebration of joy, new beginnings and hope. For me, it is an especially important time as I prepare for ordination during Annual Conference June 2. It has been a long journey, beginning with entering seminary and coming on staff in August of 2000. So much has happened. My children have grown and left home. Ben and I will celebrate 30 years of marriage in June. I have lived through much and have learned once again how deep and wide is the love of God through Jesus Christ.

Schweitzer has changed a great deal in the past seven years as well. Our staff has grown. We can not imagine not having screens in the sanctuary. We have four distinctly different worship services every weekend. We respond to disasters with not just money but with action. We offer a summer day camp that will ensure 50 children a week will have a safe, Christian experience. Hospitality matters, how we treat one another is how we love God. Children’s Sunday School is bursting at the seams. There is great evidence that we are listening and responding to God’s direction for Schweitzer.

I celebrate with you the mighty work God is doing through this church. I want to thank you all for the opportunity to work here, play here, worship here, grow in faith here. I am greatly indebted to this congregation for the love you have extended my family. You have helped Ben and I raise our children, you have helped me answer God’s call on my life. You are always teaching me the great joy of being part of a church family.
May God Bless You, Lori
