Vision 2010
What kind of a church is God calling us to be by 2010? What do we need
to do to get there? We are beginning a new visionary process at Schweitzer
and have named a new vision team to begin asking these and other questions
to help guide us into the future.
In consulting with the Lay Leadership Committee and the Church Staff, I
have asked these persons to serve on The Vision 2010 Team:
Lori Lampert
Jim Voigt
Jim Mason
Liz Craig
Matt Kerner
Deanna Gorden
Roger Tunks
Jim McCormick
Jill Seagrave
Drew Fritts
Ed Hewlett
Denise Baumann
Cindy Waites
Lisa Miller
Gordon Kinne
Lynette Lewis
Lori Rogers
Will Cologna
Phil Stocker
Meredith Roberts
David Jones
Stephanie Haase
Phil Grafft
Wayne Thompson
It is apparent that a dynamic team of diverse gender, age and membership has been selected. Some are staff members, most are laity members of the church. Some have been a part of Schweitzer for decades, others are relatively new members. All are deeply committed to Jesus Christ and to Schweitzer. They are representative of the hundreds of genuine Christ followers who are actively living out their faith through this congregation.
As we lead these conversations over the next three years, we anticipate God leading us every step of the way. We are not in a hurry. We don't anticipate making major immediate decisions or shifts in what we are doing. We are open to all kinds of possibilities. We know that God is blessing countless lives through the ministry of this church and we intend to pursue God's purposes for us! We want Schweitzer to reach it's full redemptive potential.
We hope that you will be asking the same questions we will be asking:What kind of a church is God calling us to be by 2010? What do we need to get there? We look forward to hearing from you and receiving your input during this significant visionary process. Please pray for the Vision 2010 Team and most importantly for Schweitzer as the team begins its work. --Bob Casady
