...after family and friends have heard your story one too many times but you still need to talk it out.
That's when the Stephen Minister steps in...
Stephen Ministry- "Christ caring for people through people"
Life can be hard. There are times in each person's life when the events around us challenge our ability to cope. Hospitalization, terminal diagnosis, retirement, grieving a death or a loss, separation or divorce, empty nest, job crisis, single parenting, fertility issues, a spiritual dilemma and many other life transitions put us at a point of crisis. How we deal with these events can bring us into a place of healing or a place of despair. We are not meant to face these transitions alone.
Stephen Ministers are dedicated Christians who are willing to journey with you. They are committed to dependability, confidentiality and trust. Stephen Ministers bring the skills of listening and openness to the relationship and because of their encouragement and support you find you are not alone.
Stephen Minsitry enables our church to reach out in the community as a caring congregation. You do not need to be a member of Schweitzer to receive a Stephen Minsiter. If you are interested in hearing more about this ministry, please call me at 881-6800. It would be my privalege to speak with you.

Stephen Ministry is also a program that equips lay persons to provide distinctively Chrisitan one-to-one care to those who are experiencing all kinds of life needs and circumstances. The Stephen Ministry is a confidential ministry.

- Express God's care through their lives
- Recieve 50 hours of initial training
- Are commissioned by our congregation
- Participate in monthly supervision and continuing education two times a month
- Serve for at least two years
- Are committed to dependability, confidentiality and trust.
