TITLE: Director of Serve Ministries

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Coordinator’s ultimate responsibility is to help every disciple at Schweitzer find their place of service in the church’s ministries.
Is a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ, committed to a Christ-centered lifestyle of continual spiritualgrowth;
Is a member of Schweitzer and is fulfilling the membership covenant through their prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness;
Aligns tasks and responsibilities in helping Schweitzer achieve its mission of Transforming lives by making disciples of Jesus Christ;
Shows and earns respect as a leader; is able to work harmoniously with subordinates, peers, and congregants;
Demonstrates high energy and productivity;
Possesses effective communication skills – oral, written, electronic, and listening;
Is a strategic thinker and uses time wisely;
Able to identify, recruit, equip, and lead paid and unpaid staff to serve;
Keeps and maintains confidentiality;
Leads boldly to make the right things happen;
Seeks continual improvement in ministry;
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Inventories and updates the serve opportunities at Schweitzer and communicates through various mediums clear pathways of serving to the congregation.
2. Interfaces with the Ministry Staff and other key leaders in the church in identifying current ministry needs and potential people to lead and/or serve.
3. Leads the leaders of First Impressions ministry in providing excellent hospitality to guests and all those who enter Schweitzer’s doors.
4. Engages each participant in “Come Meet Schweitzer” courses in assisting them to connect to existing serve opportunities at Schweitzer prior to becoming church members.
5. Coordinates the Gifts/Serve Class and assists each participant’s gifting to correlate with existing serve opportunities at Schweitzer.
6. Co-leads serve and leadership opportunities in equipping and training God’s people for works of service to build up the Body of Christ and transform the world.
7. Makes weekly contacts of Schweitzer members seeking to connect them to specific serve ministries in the church.
