Prayer is central to everything God is doing in and through Schweitzer, and we recognize that while all of us are called to pray, some are particularly designed by God with a unique passion and gift for praying on the behalf of others. Teams at Schweitzer concentrate on praying in and for specific areas.

Those who serve through our caring ministry teams view Schweitzer as a family, helping to celebrate with and support people through the joys and trials of life.

Serving roles available for working with youth from 6th through 12th grade are numerous and varied. Get ready for opportunities that will change your life as much as it will theirs.

“Worship the Lord with gladness, come into His presence with singing.” Psalm 100:2 The Music Ministry at Schweitzer is an opportunity for you to use your musical talents in worship.

If you’re passionate about working behind the scenes so others can see and hear the word of God spoken, or maybe you just like to play with really cool gadgets, check out the Tech Team.

Detail-oriented people who particularly enjoy the challenge of behind-the-scenes tasks serve in a variety of ways to support the operations of the church.

- Monday morning financial team
Members of this team provide the “first impression” for all those who attend our regular services and special events. This is a great way to enter serving as opportunities are numerous, and responsibilities relatively simple.

Schweitzer responds to disasters both locally and through- out the country. All kinds of skills and gifts are useful on this team. Serving opportunities are on an as-needed basis.
Schweitzer partners with nearby elementary school, Pittman in several ways. If you want to get to know the amazing kids in our community, join us as we partner with our neighborhood school.

In addition to providing a monthly serving team at the local Crosslines outreach, Schweitzer operates a large food pantry from our Outreach Center building.
Opportunities include:
- Sacking groceries to be stored and readied for clients.
- Sorting items in the storage area of the pantry.
- Registering clients and assisting with paperwork
Schweitzer has been supporting an orphanage just outside of Les Cayes, Haiti called Pwoje Espwa (HopeVillage). There are over 650 children who are in great need of food, clothing, school supplies, and care.

- Mission Trip
Supporting international artisans as they work to earn a living wage to support their family is the focus of this team. A yearly market is held where crafts, jewelry, and food items from developing nations are sold.

- Taking/keeping inventory
- Accounting
- Talking with shoppers about the items, the countries from which they come, and the ministries.
